For 30+ years, Historic Baker Community Garden has fed families and grown community in the heart of Denver's Baker neighborhood. Now the land is being sold — and if we don't act, this garden could disappear.
The private landowners are dissolving their company and have given Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) the first chance to buy the 7,400-square-foot property at 75 W. Bayaud before it hits the open market. All 22 garden plots here are full, with a waiting list every year. This is one of the most in-demand green spaces in the neighborhood.

Where Your Money Goes
Funds raised go directly toward the $600,000 purchase price for the land. If the campaign doesn't reach its full goal, DUG will work to relocate every Baker gardener to a nearby community garden so they can keep growing.
We know this is a large goal, and we are seeking angel investors or a favorable relationship with a new landowner so the garden stays. Any funds remaining after the purchase (or after covering relocation needs) will go into an Endowment Fund to protect garden land like this from this kind of risk in the future.
